Who we are

BlackBook Investments (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a UK property investment brokerage. Registered office: 48 West George Street, Glasgow, G2 1BP. We are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) under registration number ZB867508 and with The Property Ombudsman (TPO) under T12015. For any privacy query you can contact us at admin@blackbookinvestments.co.uk or 0141 403 1573. We are the data controller for the personal data described below.

What information we collect

Information you give us — when you submit a valuation request, investor-list sign-up, or contact form, we collect your name, email address, telephone number, property address (where provided) and any investment criteria or details you choose to include (for example budget or strategy).

Information collected automatically — when you use our website we collect limited technical data such as IP address, device and browser type, and how you interact with the site, through cookies and similar technologies (see our Cookie Policy).

How we use your information and our lawful basis

  • To respond to your enquiry and provide the services you request — legitimate interests and/or taking steps to enter into a contract.
  • To send you off-market opportunities and updates where you have joined our investor list — consent, which you may withdraw at any time.
  • To meet our legal and regulatory obligations, including estate-agency and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) requirements — legal obligation.
  • To operate, secure and improve our website — legitimate interests.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with trusted service providers acting on our instructions, including our website hosting provider, our website hosting provider (IONOS), our CRM platform (Monday.com) and email and productivity provider (Google Workspace) used to manage and respond to enquiries, and Google Analytics for website measurement. We may also disclose information where required by law or to meet AML and regulatory obligations. Where any provider processes data outside the UK, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place.

How long we keep it

We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes above and to meet legal and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) record-keeping requirements. Where we are required to keep records for AML compliance, we retain these for five years after the end of our business relationship, in line with HMRC requirements, after which they are securely deleted.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to our processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any right, email admin@blackbookinvestments.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk or 0303 123 1113.

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies. Please see our Cookie Policy for details and how to manage your preferences.
